US SIF relaunches proxy proposal archive to strengthen market transparency and stewardship
WASHINGTON, D.C. — April 13, 2026 — US Sustainable Investment Forum today announced the launch of the Proxy Proposal Archive (PPA), making one of the most comprehensive records of US shareholder proposals now publicly accessible to investors, companies, academics and the financial industry worldwide.
The US SIF PPA platform archives the widely used shareholder resolution database from the Sustainable Investments Institute (Si2), which ceased operations at the end of 2024. The relaunch ensures continued public access to more than 7,200 shareholder proposals filed at approximately 1,100 US companies between 2010 and 2024, alongside detailed analytical reports and regulatory correspondence that document the evolution of the shareholder proposal process.
At a time when shareholder rights, proxy advisor oversight, SEC rulemaking, and institutional stewardship practices are under intense scrutiny, US SIF is positioning the database as core market architecture— a neutral, empirical resource for understanding and tracking how investors engage companies on material risks.
“Shareholder proposals are one of the few formal mechanisms investors have to raise material governance and risk issues directly with boards,” said Maria Lettini, CEO of US SIF. “In an environment where shareholder rights, disclosure standards and engagement practices are under increasing political and regulatory pressure, access to accurate historical data is essential. Market integrity depends on participants understanding how the underlying system works.”
For global asset owners and asset managers, the database provides a benchmark for stewardship and engagement strategy. For corporates and boards, it offers insight into evolution of investor expectations. For academics and policy researchers, it supplies a structured historical dataset spanning fifteen years of corporate governance and sustainability debates.
“At Si2, we provided some of the world’s largest institutional investors with impartial tracking and analysis of highly contested issues. I’m pleased that we can now open the platform publicly to the broader community to fully engage with the information and data compiled during the critical decade and a half of our work,” said retired Si2 Executive Director, Heidi Welsh. “It is deeply concerning that the right of shareholders to formally raise questions with their investee companies through the shareholder proposal process is being challenged today.”
