NextGen in Sustainable Finance
A new podcast series
Amplifying the voices of emerging leaders and early-career changemakers building the future of sustainable and impact finance.
Not your typical finance podcast.
This isn't a stale-academic-type-podcast. It’s a dynamic conversational space for young professionals, students, early career professionals, and really, anyone! It’s a space where we talk about real-life trends, real problems, and real solutions. Sustainable finance is complex. This podcast breaks it down, piece by piece. Join us!

The NextGen in Sustainable Finance podcast was created to amplify more diverse NextGen voices. It became a personal mission for both Lamisa and Maria, the podcast co-hosts. Maria is building the platform she wishes she'd had walking into this sector, and Lamisa is passionate about building community and elevating the voices of her peers. Together, they want to create a space where emerging leaders get the platform and representation that is seldomly seen in the capital markets, where hard questions get asked, and where a NextGen wondering if there's a place for them in impact work can hear from leaders who started exactly where they currently are in their career.
Together, Lamisa and Maria want to create an authentic space for emerging leaders. If you're just starting out in your career and trying to find your footing, NextGen in Sustainable Finance is for you. If you've been in the sector for a few years and want to expand your network, join us!. And, if you are an industry veteran and seasoned sustainability leader, listen in and listen up, because the voices of the next generation matter more than ever right now.
The aim behind the NextGen series is simple: to give young people's opinions a chance to be authentically represented and to challenge the leaders already at the table to pull up a few more chairs.

The Story Behind the NextGen Podcast
The hosts, Maria and Lamisa, met at a sustainable finance conference, the kind of room where the future of the industry was being debated on every panel. But as they looked around, they noticed something: almost no one speaking was an early-career professional. The people who will inherit this field, who will actually live with the decisions being made today, did not get a seat at the table.
So Maria and Lamisa got to talking about how rare it is to hear a young voice on a main stage and how many brilliant early-career changemakers and emerging leaders are making an incredible impact in sustainable and impact finance, yet their stories go untold, because no one ever made room for them. They agreed on one thing clearly, the next generation isn't just the future of sustainable finance; they're the ones already shaping it, often without being seen.
