Election Statement
I’m Victor Orozco, and I’m honored to submit my candidacy for the 2025 US SIF Board of Directors election. I currently serve as a Managing Partner at Bair Financial Planning in San Diego, where my business partner and I have worked together for over two decades. Our practice focuses on serving sustainable-minded investors, the LGBTQ+ community, and women in leadership through comprehensive financial planning. A large part of our work includes helping clients adopt sustainable investment portfolios, an area where I’ve dedicated significant professional energy.
I also serve on the Investment Strategy Committee for the Wealth Consulting Group, the hybrid RIA with which our firm is affiliated. Because we operate across both an RIA platform and a broker-dealer (LPL Financial), I bring a unique perspective—overseeing sustainable portfolios used by more than 100 advisors and receiving direct feedback from advisors across different business models. This dual vantage point allows me to blend my client facing CFP® experience with my CSRIC® expertise in portfolio construction and enterprise level implementation.
My involvement with US SIF began formally in 2018 as a member, although I engaged with the organization even earlier by attending multiple US SIF Forums—including Minneapolis, Chicago, and Tamaya. These gatherings have been invaluable opportunities to build relationships across the sustainable investing ecosystem. Over the years, I’ve also served US SIF in several capacities: as a panelist at Forum, as a recurring instructor for the Fundamentals course (in both in-person and virtual formats), specifically teaching the advisor-focused adoption and implementation module. I also participate in the Financial Advisor Advisory Group.
My motivation for running for the Board is rooted in a belief that my background offers a combination of experience, perspective, and commitment that can strengthen the organization. I see where the advisory profession heading towards increased tech adoption, rapid shifts in practice management, evolving client expectations, and a generational surge of interest in aligning wealth with values.
If elected, I would focus on ensuring that the voice of the financial advisor is amplified within US SIF’s strategic priorities. Advisors play a central role in distribution, education, and implementation, and our perspectives must be integrated into how US SIF shapes its future. I’ve spent years listening to advisors express their concerns, hesitations, excitement, and aspirations around sustainable investing. I can bring not only my perspective but the collective insight of the advisors in my firm and broader network.
I also see a tremendous opportunity for US SIF to expand educational pathways and partnerships with custodians, study groups, and professional networks to bring more advisors into the room. While our space has faced political and regulatory headwinds, especially in the last few years, I believe doubling down on clear, practical education and broad community-building is the most effective way forward.
I’m energized by the possibility of contributing to this work at a deeper level. Thank you for considering my candidacy, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve.
