US SIF Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how US SIF: The Sustainable Investment Forum and the US SIF Foundation collect, use and store your information, as well as how to contact us with questions.

We are committed to protecting the personal information of our members, supporters and everyone else whose information we store. We do not sell any of your personal details to third parties.

Updates to the Privacy Policy will be posted on this webpage, and we will include the date of our latest update at the top of the policy.

2. Who are we?
US SIF: The Sustinable Investment Forum
 is a non-profit organization located in Washington, DC. Our members include investment management and advisory firms, mutual fund companies, asset owners, research firms, financial planners and advisors, broker-dealers, community investing organizations and non-profit associations.
 
US SIF is supported in its work by the US SIF Foundation, a 501(C)(3) organization that undertakes educational, research and programmatic activities to advance the mission of US SIF.
 
We engage in a wide range of programs and activities to support members and to expand sustainable and impact investing. Activities offered by US SIF and the US SIF Foundation include research, education and trainings, convenings, engagement with policymakers and media, and other member services.

3. Why do we collect your personal data and how do we use your information?
We collect your personal data, where applicable:

  • to administer membership services if you or your employer are a US SIF member;

  • to send publications and access to trainings you have purchased or downloaded from our website;

  • to process your registrations, if any, for our annual conference, webinars, courses, and other events; and

  • to share information about our work, events and other offerings.


We also collect contact information, from publicly available resources and internal databases and communications, for the database we maintain for our biennial Report on US Sustainable Investing Trends.

4. What kind of personal data do we collect and how do we collect it? 
We gather information during purchases and registrations including full name, job title, name of employer, email address, phone number, and address or location information. We gather this information from multiple sources either directly from you, from partner organizations, or from publicly available resources. 

We gather but do not store, the payment information that you provide to us when you purchase US SIF services or products.

5. Who will be able to access your personal data?
We do not sell any personal data to third parties. US SIF staff and a limited number of consultants with whom we contract to support our programs and educational offerings are able to access the personal data stored in our databases and internally shared drive.

If you register for the conference or a sponsored event, US SIF will share your contact information with sponsors. If you register for an educational course, US SIF may share your information with the presenters of that course and our educational content partners.

6. How do we protect your personal data?
We are committed to protecting your personal data from being misused. Only staff and consultants that are authorized to handle your data are provided access to do so.

Data is stored in our password-protected databases and internally shared drive on secured computer systems or on secure cloud-based servers of our vendors. We retain the services of an IT firm to manage any suspected or confirmed data breaches internally and notify relevant parties as soon as we are able to.
